This article may as well have been written about me

Power-Watching takes Edge off Strike may as well be the story of my TV on DVD watching life. Only difference for me is that I was doing it long before the strike and will continue now that it has all but actually ended.

Actually, right now I’m Power-Watching “Two and a Half Men” and will be posting reviews of season’s 1 and 2 as soon as I finish them.

I power-Watch shows I haven’t actually seen on TV, such as Men which I’ve only seen moments of before American Gladiators until buying the DVDs.

I Power-Watch shows I have loved for years such as last month’s treck through seasons 1-7 of Married with Children.

I’ve done it with M*A*S*H, Friends and the Simpsons a number of times.

I like the fact that when I power-watch a show I can see the storylines and progression of characters and the evolution of shows themselves. In the case of M*A*S*H it makes it easy to compare eras as I would’ve gone through seasons 1-3 before doing 8-11 for example.

Truthfully, I own very few movies on DVD anymore, having little desire to watch them. Yet I keep wanting to increase my TV on DVD collection seemingly every week.

The biggest drawback is the fact that once I’m done with something…I ask myself what’s next? It is easier for a show which has completed its run but when I finished season 7 of Married…with Children, I wondered when Season 8 was coming out. The answer to that question is March 18, and no I won’t start all the way over at season 1 I’ll just buy 8 and watch it.

TV on DVD is so awesome and one of my favorite sites is the always trustworthy and informative TVShowsOnDVD.com and not just because David Lambert and Gord Lacey and I know each other for years now on the Home Theater Forum .

So, when I’m not watching a combat sport for combat-hooligans.com I’m more than likely watching TV on DVD and more than likely in the middle of power-watching a particular favorite.
